The iconic hotel St- Sulpice in Montreal by Christopher Heard

For several days during a recently very balmy mid-December I enjoyed two of my very favourite things - hotel living and hotel culture, and being in one of my favourite cities in the world, Montreal.  The hotel was Le St.-Sulpice (414 Saint-Sulpice in Old Montreal), and I can say without reservation that it is one of the most comfortable hotels for the writer or the actor or the artist to live in and work in that is yet known to me.

Where to stay: Le Saint-Sulpice Hotel
Staying at Le Saint-Sulpice Hotel made everything so accessible, and with their valet parking, a breeze. With stone floors and quaint old-world feeling, the lobby of Le Saint-Sulpice (even though it’s new) was buzzing with friendly staff from the receptionists to the valet to the bellhops...

Contemporary Grandeur in the Heart of Old Montréal - august 2015 - Amy French

From my first glimpse at its cobble-stone streets, old-world architecture, and historic buildings, I was smitten with Old Montréal. Driving down rue St. Sulpice, Notre Dame Basilica appeared before me with its magnificent façade. Harkening to worshippers for almost 200 years it called to me, too. Our hotel, Le Saint-Sulpice, stood directly behind the cathedral. My heart quickened when I realized that I would be staying in the center of this magnificent city’s birthplace.

Cruiser tips and tricks. How to extend your cruise vacation

Getting back to Le Saint Sulpice, the hotel’s location could not be better. It’s set on a quiet street in Old Montreal, steps from Notre-Dame Basilica and a few blocks from the cruise terminal and the Pointe-a-Calliere. The hotel is made up of stone buildings formerly used as warehouses for goods going to and from nearby docks. In the center of the complex is a peaceful garden courtyard where the Sinclair restaurant serves lunch and dinner on warm sunny days.

There are hotels you check into, that service your purposes, clean, basic, reliable, good locations, then there are those that are destination hotels, luxury hotels. French Canadian Chic week by Sharon Haver - focusonstyle.com

We stayed at the perfectly located, pet-friendly and super chic Le Saint-Sulpice Hotel Montreal on St Sulpice St– right behind Notre-Dame Basilica, down the block from activities on the Old Port, and off Rue Saint Paul Ouest with the chic SSence store across the corner. What I loved the most about Le Saint Sulpice Hotel besides roominess of our terraced suite — complete with kitchen so I could make my green smoothies– was the old European feel of the property combined with up-to-the-minute modernity.
